NISSAN CROSSOVER
Or where the automobile meets “West Side Story” in one mouse click
You don’t get it? Let’s start from the top: Nissan invented the crossover. Still not clear? But it’s really very simple: a crossover is a hybrid car (we’re not just talking about the motor here, we literally mean “hybrid” – a crossover as in, well, something that crosses over), a car that combines the presence and safety of a 4x4 with the advantages and agility of a saloon, all wrapped in an entirely socially acceptable appearance (which isn’t easy for everyone, especially if you’re a car). The result was the Qashqaï, the “compact crossover that can take on the city” (now you recognise it, don’t you?). We’re getting closer…
The crossover family grew with the Murano (compared to the Qashqaï, it’s like the beefed-up big brother). So we wanted to keep it in the family and introduce them both, but still distinguish between them. From this came a simple idea: the same universe (the city), the same “robustness” (urbanproof), and two rival gangs facing each other down. Remind you of something? West Side Story, for example? (West Side Story wikipedia link) Except here, it’s not the Jets and the Sharks gangs but the Qashqaïs and the Muranos, and the action is indeed a dance – but it’s the internet visitor who controls the “battles.”
It whirls around, it flows technologically, it’s vibrant, and it also provided a 4% conversion rate and a 6% interaction rate. In other words, that means the visitors loved it and had a lot of fun with it. Like An old ‘60s movie in 2009 – pretty groovy, isn’t it?
